What makes Edmentum Courseware great?
Here are some of the exciting benefits districts find once they use Courseware:
Significant, well-rounded, and up-to-date evidence of impact
In a landscape where too many digital programs still rely on outdated evidence of outcomes, we’ve taken a different path that reflects the reality of today’s learners.
Here are just a couple of our latest research findings:
- Courseware reduces chronic absenteeism and improves engagement: spring 2023 study, meeting ESSA Tier 2 evidence standards, found that students in grades 8–12 who successfully completed at least one Courseware course had 23% fewer absences and 33% fewer tardies than their peers. These aren’t just attendance metrics—they’re indicators of stronger engagement and deeper student connection to their learning. The students gained valuable learning time and the study observed positive effects on overall course grades.
- Courseware students enrolled in Algebra 1 and English 1 score higher on NWEA MAP Growth assessments: Դdzٳrigorous study, also meeting ESSA Tier 2 evidence standards, examined Courseware’s impact on 9th-grade students in a large urban district. An average student who used the program online through synchronous or asynchronous delivery could accelerate learning for a gain of up to five percentile points in mathematics and up to three percentile points in reading as compared to a student who did not participate in the program.
Re-engaging learners, addressing unfinished learning, and supporting consistent attendance aren’t just priorities—they're essentials. That’s why current, relevant research matters more than ever when evaluating digital curriculum. At Edmentum, we’ve built Courseware to not only meet these evolving needs, but to prove its effectiveness in today’s classrooms.
Comprehensive career-connected learning
As districts plan for the year ahead, many are reassessing the quality and impact of their CTE offerings. In a crowded landscape of digital curriculum, not all solutions are created equal. Some rely on static, one-size-fits-all course design that prioritizes content delivery over real engagement. These formats often lack customization, interactivity, and the instructional design needed to truly prepare students for college and career pathways.
At Edmentum, we’ve taken a different approach—one built intentionally for impact. Edmentum Career, available exclusively through Courseware, reimagines career-connected learning for grades 6–12. With over 180 semester-long CTE courses aligned to nearly 60 career pathways, embedded interest inventories, and capstone experiences that foster real-world readiness, we offer a cohesive journey from exploration to employability. Supported by our research-backed and active learning design, this offering reflects our belief that CTE should do more than check a box—it should create opportunity and drive meaningful outcomes.
Integration with additional solutions
Courseware remains the core of our credit-bearing programs, but it’s joined by robust intervention and assessment tools—all accessible through a single login and unified student and educator experience.
Pairing Courseware with Exact Path allows schools to go beyond credit recovery or acceleration by embedding diagnostic-driven, individualized learning directly into their MTSS framework, now with first-of-its-kind impact reporting. Students can work on closing foundational skill gaps while staying on track to earn meaningful credits—without juggling multiple systems. On top of that, our newly upgraded Standards Mastery tool provides real-time, formative practice across all 3–12 core subjects, making end-of-year test preparation easier and more effective. Together, these enhancements ensure that educators aren’t just opening the door to more features—they’re unlocking access to a smarter, more cohesive system built to adapt to student needs and drive better outcomes.

You can gauge higher-level students, put them on something more complex, [and] meet students where they are based on their needs. The ability to personalize enables our teachers to have a partner they can turn to.”](https://cdn.edmentum.com/assets/media/Halifax-County-quote-Dr.-Tyrana-Battle.png)
